Cooking

I have found a new site called Cooking Cakes and Children http://www.cookingcakesandchildren.com/2010/10/october-bake-it-recipe-sticky-ginger-cake/

Each month they have a focus on one recipe, the idea is to bake the recipe in that month and post your pictures on flickr to show off to others. This is a great activity to do with kids!

Skills:
-following a recipe
-shopping for ingredients
-collecting ingredients
-measuring ingredients
-cooking terms
-practicing cooking methods
-time management ie if the cake is ready in 1 hour do we have time to make it now before we go out at 12
-cleaning up
-sharing the cake/afternoon tea invitations
-taking pictures
-posting pictures
-comparison between cakes
-problem solving if things go wrong

So join in and lets get cooking!
